Without a creative archive, teams repeat failed ideas or attribute success to the wrong element. The archive should retain not only the final asset but also the experiment's rationale.

Give every concept and variant an ID

Connect the parent idea, hook, format, copy and visual change. A filename such as final_final does not reveal which hypothesis was tested.

Record the audience and context

Channel, placement, country, audience, offer and period affect performance. A winner is not universally successful outside those conditions.

Preserve the original hypothesis

Write down which problem the creative is supposed to solve and which metric should change. The result then produces knowledge rather than merely a ranking.

Connect rights and expiry

Record creator consent, music, stock licences, territory and expiry. Finding an old asset does not mean a new use is permitted.

Codify the learning

After the test, note what was learned, what remains uncertain and the next experiment. Avoid simplistic green or red labels.
