A user arrives on a landing page with a specific expectation created by the preceding message. If they find different language, an offer or a next step, they must work out the proposition again and trust declines.

Record the originating message

Note the headline, visual, offer, audience and CTA for every important campaign. A landing page cannot align with an undefined idea.

Repeat the value, not merely the words

The first screen should recognise the same need and result. Mechanical copying is unnecessary, but the core promise must not change.

Keep the same terms

Price, duration, conditions and availability must agree. Small discrepancies in terms create more distrust than weak aesthetics.

Lead to the expected next step

If the advertisement promises an immediate calculation, the page should not ask for a general enquiry. The CTA needs to continue the particular task.

Check by segment

Different intentions may require different pages or dynamic elements. Do not force every audience into one generic experience that speaks clearly to nobody.
