A campaign name should convey essential dimensions without becoming an incomprehensible code. A good taxonomy serves operators, analysts and automations, and remains useful as new channels are added.

Define the necessary dimensions

Choose only information regularly needed in filters: market, objective, product, funnel stage and period. Do not copy the entire brief into the name.

Use a consistent order and vocabulary

Fix the separator, language, abbreviations and permitted values. GR and Greece should not create two categories.

Keep a unique identifier

A short ID connects the name to the brief, budget and creative archive, even if the human-readable description changes.

Separate permanent and variable information

Do not include metrics or statuses that change daily. They belong in platform fields or the reporting layer.

Validate during creation

Generate names from a form or template and check legacy inconsistencies. Guidance in a document is not enough when entry remains unrestricted.
